Uwe Schmidt is one of the most adventurous protagonists of modern electronic experimentation. In a career spanning more than thirty years, he has been linked to numerous pseudonyms and just as many sound worlds, without ever stopping on a path that has always been oriented in different directions. From the post-industrial expressionism of his works under the name Lassigue Bendthaus to the salsa-based reinterpretations of Kraftwerk classics in Señor Coconut, the first ten years of his artistic adventure have established him as one of the key figures in electronic research.
The encounter between the techno-pop of the Düsseldorf school and the abstract techno, descendant of the glitch celebrated in the Atom™ saga, recently settled at the raster-noton of Alva Noto and Byetone, represents the current fulcrum of his path, which over the years has maintained an interest in the futuristic and a spirit of challenge to mainstream taste.
