Cortex of Light is an attempt to trace new configurations of the audible spectrum in order to alter the usual relations between body, mind and sound. Born as collaboration between Aitch, Piezo and Primordial Ooze for Saturnalia Festival – and currently main core of the A.R.X. collective – the project slowly unfolded in rare but remarkable apparitions in the form of extended kaleidoscopic sessions where the sonic space became a vaporous cloud, deep and subtle. In time, out of time.
In the last two years the trio released tracks, remixes and original mixes on Communion, Comic Sans, Eska, NTS Radio, Kiosk, and performed in renowned festivals like Positive Education and LOST.
Their long-awaited debut LP, ‘ILLUMINOTECNICA’, came out on May 2025. Illuminotecnica is a slacker’s exploration of ecstatic techniques in sound, echoing the free-form drift of elemental flows across the motherboard. Celestial data streams. Mineral rhythms loop in cycles within cycles. A glitch pulses at the heart of the sun while the sky turns green.
