Moor Mother is an artist, activist, performer and poet from the Philadelphia underground scene who deals with current issues in a radical way. Moor Mother is also co-founder of the Black Quantum Futurism collective and a member of the avant-garde jazz group Irreversible Entanglements.
‘Black Encyclopedia of the Air’ features an infinite variety of timbres embedded in the arrangements, swaying between 90s R&B and abstract jazz, mixing poetry, rap and Afrofuturism. The latest album released in 2022, ‘Jazz Codes’, is her second for ANTI- and a companion to ’Black Encyclopedia of the Air‘. It received many acclaims from the press and the public being also awarded as Album of The Year by Blow Up Magazine.
