Myriam Bleau is a composer, digital artist and performer based in Montréal. Using music and sound as a point of departure, she creates audiovisual performances, video works, installations and interactive interfaces articulating sound, light and movement.
Her practice is primarily performance-driven, embracing ephemeral and elusive contexts. Working across code, machine learning, physical computing and custom-built devices, Bleau approaches technology as an active agency — a collaborator that co-produces the artistic output rather than a neutral tool. Her work explores porous thresholds between the physical and the virtual, the natural and the synthetic, often foregrounding the body as an interface.
Bleau’s work has been widely presented internationally in major festivals and institutions, including Prix Ars Electronica, Sónar, Transmediale, Mutek, ISEA, L.E.V., Scopitone and Café Oto. Alongside performance, her research extends into interactive systems and hybrid musical instruments, bridging contemporary electronic music, media arts and choreography.

A collaborative audiovisual performance with choreographer Nien Tzu Weng, exploring the screen as tactile interface, mirror and prosthesis. Custom LED screens worn by the performers translate touch into sound and image, unfolding a ritualistic reflection on identity, mediation and the “second self.”

An audiovisual performance with machine learning, where AI-generated architectures and speculative ecosystems emerge from the assemblage of human and machine agencies.

An audiovisual laser performance combining deconstructed techno structures with volumetric light, examining acceleration, movement and their environmental impact.

An award-winning audiovisual performance for kinetic, sensor-based spinning tops, merging electronic music composition, light and motion into a performative sculptural system.
