SPIME.IM is an artistic collective which investigates the aesthetics of languages derived from the affirmation of digital reality through transmedia musical projects. SPIME.IM uses technology, 3D art and electronic music to weave immersive audio-video experiences that explore the boundaries of identity, corporeality and perception. They presented their work at international digital art festivals such as Ars Electronica, Club to Club and L.E.V. and recently delivered their latest multimedia production “The End Of The World” with internationally renowned pianist and composer Lubomyr Melnyk and cellist Julia Kent.
With “ZERO”, an A/V installation, SPIME.IM took the audience to a dimensional journey through humanity’s spectrum. Imagine the present as a point of no return. The end. An unstable trip into reality through a sequence of images. Waste is degradation of matter. In a sudden deflagration, the pixels that make up our universe begin to flake and mix with each other. Boundaries became indistinguishable. From micro to macro, from human habits to the paths of the stars, every element of reality that we perceive was minced and every small particle is part of a primordial digital soup. In the end, everything becomes compressed until it metamorphoses into a luminous nucleus and our eyes will be launched on an endless journey through infinite parallel dimensions.
Last year, in September 2023, the Turin-based audiovisual collective SPIME.IM their highly anticipated album “Grey Line”. The release explores the intricate nuances of the grey scale within the contemporary landscape, encapsulating the complexities of human experiences and the choices we encounter in an interconnected society. With ‘Grey Line’, SPIME.IM continue to carve out their distinct place among contemporary music innovators, balancing between – and deconstructing – various club genres. Each track is intimately connected to a specific gradation of grey, creating a unique musical journey through the nuances of existence. The album also features two exceptional guests: Stina Fors and Lorem.
